Help Toni Dorsey Battle Cancer

2017 has been a rough one, as it has for many others as well, but let me share Toni and Phil Dorsey's 2017 with you. (please remember to click on the updates button periodically as we will be posting often)
It started with Toni's oldest son David being diagnosed with stage 4 Metistatic Colorectal Cancer(liver) in March, going through many surgeries and battles. As if that isn't enough to put onto a mother.
They then lost Harley, one of their family fur babies that was with them for a very long time, just couldn't function any longer and passed away.
In June they had a garage fire that entered the kitchen and dining room somewhat, but the garage was full and lost so so much. Toni was burned on her arms and shoulders significantly trying to rescue old photos but did not prevail. The entire garage was burned to nothing. They found a small apartment to move into, and the move was very taxing on them.
This resulted in their 2nd fur baby "Lucy" to pass.
In October her Husband Phil lost his job of 10 years leaving them with no income other than her small Social Security check.
In November she was diagnosed with Stage 4 Metastatic Lung non-small cell Adenocarcinoma with symptomatic brain metastasis.
Yesterday we were given the full diagnosis. After many scans and testing it was determined that the Cancer started in the right upper lobe of the Lung which is prominant, with a few small subcentimeter spots scattered throughout the lungs on both sides with increased nodular density, currently showing enlargment in all Lymph nodes in the chest they could see, there is a small spot on the left lobe of liver, a mass in the right heart chamber that cannot be excluded at this time and will need further scans, a soft tissue nodule in the left breast, which again will require more testing, and lastly, a mass on the anterior extrathoratic chest wall.
It has spread to the Brain which is what alerted her to be seen by a doctor as it has altered her speech significantly along with all motor skills. The brain will be the first treated with "whole brain radiation therapy" as there are 4 spots (2 brainstem lesions and 2 cerebellar lesions), the largest being 16mm extending into the middle Cerebral peduncle (mid left of brain), an 8mm in the midbrain and 2 additional spots (lesions) one being on the left brainstem and one on the right brainstem.
The brainstem lesions are the largest worry right now, they have given her medication to reduce the swelling of the brain, if the swelling returns and the brainstems are moved any more than what they have been, it will cause paralysis rendering her quadriplegic.
The unfortunate part now is the damage that has been done with the cancer in the brain as is permanent, you cannot reverse brain damage, meaning the speech will not return to normal and motor skills will be slightly off, but she is ready to battle.
Toni starts her first full brain radiation treatment today, she is scheduled for 10 treatments and will go straight into chemotherapy within days of the radiation for 18 weeks. (treatments will be every 3rd week)
She was offered hospice and turned it down saying "no, I want to fight this". She is doing her best to be strong and hang in there.
Phil is not in the right capacity to re-enter the work force at this time, as he will be full time taking care of Toni through this battle. Their finances are more than what she brings in monthly and they do live humbly already. Disability is not an option as she did not retire.
Our family is reaching out for help to get them through this distressing time that would be dreadful for anyone. As little as $10 could help them up to the amount your heart leads you too.
