Help Thys Oldenburg
Last night our beloved 14 year old nephew Thys Oldenburg was severely injured during Orange/Hillside football game. As of this moment, less then 24 hours after initial injury, he has already gone through 3 emergency surgeries to reduce swelling and bleeding on the brain. He has still not regained consciousness and may not for awhile . This will be a marathon and not a Sprint. Not only will this be a long and arduous mental, physical and emotional battle, it will also be a financial one. Lawson and Jan will need more help then they realize and finances should not an additional stress for them at this time. Thank you for your support and god bless. His Uncle Al, Aunt Cheri and Aunt Caroline
As today is sweet Thys' 15th birthday we ask that you send him your warm and positive thoughts as he continues his daily path towards recovery. We thank God for allowing him to stay with us to celebrate this day and many many more to come. We thank each and every one of you for your support this past month and on the road that he continues to travel back to us. We cannot put into words how much your comments, stories, fundraisers, donations, and most importantly your prayers have helped, not only Thys, Jan, and Lawson, but all of his family. Thanks again from the bottom of our hearts. The family.
Once again it has been a busy week so I apologise for not updating. As some of you probably know by now Thys has been transferred to another facility that specializes in helping children overcome various illnesses and injuries. While Thys is no longer at Duke, we cannot thank each and every Doctor, staff member, and volunteer enough for all they did, not only Thys, but for all of his family during his stay there. God bless you, truly.
I'd also like to thank each and every one of you for showing your support for Thys and his family during this incredibly difficult time. And I know you will join me in praying for Thys to continue to improve as he starts this next stage in recovery. Caroline
We cannot thank each and every one of you enough for all of the support you have shown this family during this time . Caroline
