Help The Weinerman Our Diabetic Dachshund

For anyone that knows me or my parents well, then you know that Buddy aka The Wienerman is a huge part of our family. He is my 8 year old Dachshund who has Degenerative Disc Disease and has undergone two surgeries over the past five years. His most recent surgery just six months ago. It seemed that he was finally doing great again and back to his normal self. However, we noticed something has been off with him over the past couple of weeks. Worried that something was wrong we took him to the vet and have now found out he has diabetes and will need to be on insulin the rest of his life. His blood sugar is so high that he will spend tonight at the vet on an IV and get his initial insulin to stabilize his blood levels.

The financial burden we have had already with his surgeries has been significant. This past surgery and related vet bills alone were over $15k. We absolutely hate the thought of asking our friends, family, and possibly even strangers for help, but the love we have for this little guy is unexplainable and we just want to be able to give him the best life we can. I have had him since he was just 3 months old. He has been with me through some of the best and worst times of my life. He has been my shoulder to cry on, the best cuddle bug, and the sweetest yet CRAZIEST guy you can imagine!

We would greatly appreciate any help you can provide.
