Help the Iriarte family after father's deportation

Donation protected
Please support the local Iriate family whose lives have been torn apart due to their father’s deportation during the Christmas holiday.

Late on Wednesday, Dec 26th, the Iriarte Family got the news they were fearing - Isaias Iriarte - their father, husband, and center of their family was deported back to Mexico with no notice after being detained for the past 3 weeks by ICE.

Isaias has lived in our community for over 15 years. He owned the El Paso Mexican Restaurant in Plainville, a well known establishment, since 2002. He has two daughters, one a student at CCSU and the other who is senior in high school hoping to attend college soon.

Please DONATE to the Iriarte family to help them with running their restaurant and keeping up with expenses now that their father has been taken away by ICE’s cruelty.  Funds will go to helping run the family restaurant business and helping his two daughters with college expenses.

Isaias Story:

It started on Friday, Dec 7th, when Isaias and his wife were running errands for their restaurant when a black van with red and blue lights pulled them over. Two agents dressed in black with Immigration and Custom Enforcement (ICE) badges stepped out of the van, detaining Isaias and leaving his wife alone. He spent the next 3 weeks including Christmas detained and away from his family.

Isaias was deported with little notice. The family last spoke to him on Christmas Day and on Dec 26  family advocates and legal representation tried reaching Isaias but could not. The next time the family heard about Isaias was from Isaias himself - he called his family upon landing in Mexico.

Within under 3 weeks, during the Holiday season, Isaias was taken away in handcuffs in front of his wife, thrown behind bars, and sent back to a country he hasn’t been to in over 16 years - without ever seeing a judge, without ever having someone hear his case. ICE ripped a hard-working man from his family, his community, and his business. As a result of ICE’s cruelty,  2 daughters are left without a father, a wife has been left without her husband, and the future of the family and the family’s restaurant is uncertain.
