Help the Huebner Family- supplies and expenses

$311.  Many of you were startled to learn the cost of  a "Busy Box" toy which Claire Huebner, 9, relies on to soothe herself.  Without this device, specially created for kids with disabilities, Claire is uncomfortable and anxious, often keeping her three young siblings, care-takers, and parents awake through the night. 

The Huebner’s have four kids.  Their first, Claire, suffers from Cerebral Palsy due to a brain injury incurred at birth.  They went on to have two more children,  James (4) and Amelia (1) and adopted another significantly disabled child Ryan (10) whom they have made part of their family.

The daily expenses of this household are enough to make anyone's jaw drop. 

Specialty equipment including wheelchairs and other devices, developmentally appropriate toys like the one referenced above, medical costs, specially trained care-givers, diapers for three of the four children, specialty foods, and a customized addition to their home in order to accommodate their needs are just a glimpse into the financial realities of their home.  

Both Ben and Meghan manage full time jobs, receive benefits, and deftly navigate the complex field of insurance, state and federal programs.  On top of this, they offer their insight and knowledge to others in need.
