Help the Collingwoods with Expenses

$1,580 of $1,500 goal

On Saturday, June 16th, little Alora started complaining of stomach pain.  For Alora this is very serious, given her past history and surgery for Gastroschesis bowel obstruction.   By Sunday, the doctors at UPMC determined she needed to be life flighted to Pittsburgh for further evaluation by specialists.  They quickly determined the situation was serious and Alora would need emergency surgery.

Aaryn and Kyle have both taken off work to be with Alora.  Kyle just started a new job, and while they are understanding of their daughter's condition, he has not yet earned any paid time off, so they are without his income.

There will be additional expenses for food, lodging, and bills that are not getting paid while they are unable to work.

Alora is a very sweet, kind-hearted, little girl.  She is brave and so well behaved during all of the testing and hospitalizations she has faced in her short 9 year life.

Doctors are hopeful this surgery will fix the problem permanently.

Can you please help the Collinwood's get through this tough time but alleviating the financial stress they will surely be facing?

Thank you for your support (I have Aaryn and Kyle's approval to create this page and all proceeds will go directly to them).  If you can't help financially, please share on Facebook.  Shares help increase donations and trending.

More good news today.Alora was able to start having some soft foods. She looked sound asleep in her bed and the doctors asked Mom if she thought Alora was ready and with eyes shut pretending to still be asleep Alora answered "Yes, it's a good idea". She is able to move about her room and has been enjoying opening more birthday presents during today's visit. The only struggle she is still having is her right shoulder still being locked up from days of being in bed and being scrunched up because of the discomfort from the NG tube that was in her throat. She is much better compared to where she was a week ago. The doctors are going to review her case in the morning and it looks like if everything goes well they may be on their way home.

From Aaryn: Today was a very productive day. They took out the NG Tube down her throat because it was putting out a lot less fluid and the color was much better. They put it to gravity and she did not feel sick or dizzy so they said it could come out and she has done well with that today. They also removed the epidural from her back and the catheter. She has been able to walk across the room a couple times today and is super happy the cords are mostly gone. The only thing she has left on is the pic line. It has been a wonderful day and hopefully we get more good news this weekend. Please keep praying.

Update on Alora: Little Alora's bowels are not responding as quickly as they had hoped. The doctors are in a bit of a dilemma - decrease the epidural in hopes that she'll have more feeling/control in her legs and possibly risk increasing her pain levels from her surgery. They decided to keep her on the pain management and hope she is stronger in a day or so.

They did have to put in a nutrient feeding tube today; poor girl has not had any food since Saturday. With the nutrients, we hope her strength will grow stronger. Alora has been a real trooper throughout this ordeal.

Kyle has to go back to work on Saturday or risk losing his job. They have a sitter for the girls at home in Oil City, and Aaryn will remain with Alora at the hospital.

Alora's physical body might not yet be recovering as fast as we'd like, but her indomitable spirit is returning! She's talking more, smiling and laughing and even making a few jokes this evening. Please keep her in your prayers in hopes that her bowels will start functioning and she can go home.

Thank you for your support. We appreciate it more than we can express with words.

I just spoke with Aaryn to give her the beneficiary and withdrawal information. She is overwhelmed with gratitude and amazement for all of the people who shared and donated. She wanted to make sure that I posted a thank you to everyone from her and Kyle.

Alora was having difficulty getting around so they called the doctors in. Turns out the epidural was affecting her little legs, making them numb and hard to control. They have adjusted that and we are hoping that will help with her mobility and get her up and moving around.

Right now she still has the tubes and catheter in so she is still not up for visitors. Doctors are not hearing the bowel sounds like they would hope, so please keep Alora in your prayers. We are hoping she can come home by early next week.

Aaryn and Kyle are quiet, introverted folks who would have never asked for help on their own, so, as the organizer of this campaign, I want to thank you all for donating as well. I knew they would need help (I have known Aaryn since my girls were little and Kyle just started working with my husband at Venango County Jail) and they have a lot of people who love and support them. THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts.

I will continue to post updates on Alora's condition and hopefully we will see her smiling beautiful face soon leaving Children's. Donations over the account goal can still be accepted, if you are so led. Aaryn and Kyle are the sole beneficiary of this account; no monies come to me and all funds raised go directly into Aaryn and Kyle's account.
