Help the Akpis get to Togo
On Sunday afternoon, Kossi's mother suddenly went to be with the Lord. It is a shock to all of us. Mama Esther was a woman that everyone loved. She was a devoted follower of Jesus. All who knew her knew she was an intercessor, who was constantly in prayer for the needs of those around her. She was an amazing mother who raised her kids to know the Lord. Not only was she a mother to Kossi and his 4 siblings, she also was a mother to many at YWAM Noépé and the surrounding village.
We are saddened that she never got to hold David and Kharis in her arms, but we rejoice that she is free of all earthy pain and sorrow.
I have created this page so that anyone who feels led to help us get to Togo and help with the funeral fees can easily do so.
Our airfare is $2500, and we are estimating the funeral fees to be around $500. My parents have offered to loan us the money for the airfare so we can quickly purchase tickets, but will be paying them back.
We plan to leave Tuesday, December 18, and return in January to continue our partnership with Extending Hope here in Malawi. We had hoped to take a trip to Togo sometime this year so the babies could meet their Togolese family. The trip is happening faster than we expected and under different circumstances.
Please be in prayer for our family as we make the journey to Togo. Although our hearts are heavy, we look forward to sharing the twins with Kossi's family.
