'Generation Giving' - NEW: Coronavirus Thank You

Beschermde donatie
2020: Please see update below for our 2020 Coronavirus Thank You Drive! . . . . . . .
Hi there!

As many of you know, a huge passion of mine is paying it forward in the community and working in the non-profit field.  I was blessed to gain experience with Baby DJ in Orlando, and have since "adopted" families around Christmas time to those in need.  Last Summer you all also helped us raise nearly $3,000 worth of goods to send down to the Nora Sandigo Foundation in Miami to help the children of immigrants with basic necessities.

I've always dreamed of starting my own official non-profit, and I feel like now is the perfect time and next step towards expanding our reach.

Some of the benefits of being a registered 501(c)(3) include providing tax deductible donation receipts, the ability to apply for grants, and securing corporate donations.

One of the disadvantages....is the COST!

Which is where your generosity once again comes in.  Below are a few of the expenses I've approached when researching start-up costs:

$40- Digital
$87.50- Incorporation Fee
$72- Website
$850- 501(c)(3) filing fee

= $1,049.50

WHEW!

While I have incredible enthusiasm for the cause, a team of board members ready to go, and programs ready to be started (see below)...unfortunately, these costs are out of my budget.

So, if you/ your business/ your friends or family are willing to contribute $5, $20, $,100 towards helping those in our community it would truly be appreciated.  We have proven time and time again that when those of us rally together, we really can make a difference!

Here is a little bit about our newly named charity, "Generation Giving" going forward in 2019!

MISSION STATEMENT:

The mission of 'Generation Giving' is to help children and families in need by providing food, household essentials, and finances, with an emphasis on gifting toys throughout the holiday season.

ABOUT US:

“Assisting and empowering future generations in their time of need.”

We operate with the understanding that nearly everyone falls on hard times.  Through empathy and compassion from our volunteers in the community, we rally together to lessen the impact of those trying times.  Our program assists those in need through three primary methods:

1)   Operation: Wish List

Operation: Wish List provides families in need assistance during the Christmas season.  This assistance ranges from children’s toys, groceries for a Christmas meal, clothes, and other essentials for the holiday season.

2)   Adopt-A-Teen

A group of children who often get overlooked during a difficult holiday season are teens ages 12-17.  Our belief is that every child is on the “nice list” no matter their age and should be equally as provided-for on Christmas morning.

3)   Summertime and Year-Around Assistance

Generation Giving aims to provide for those in need not only during the holiday season, but all year around.  These programs can range from sending school supplies to low income families, giving food to hungry students during summer break, or donating household necessities to children of immigrants in need.
