Help Shepard the cat be painfree!

Hey there :) Thank you so much for taking the time to come here!

The Story of Shepard
(The Baby Cat)

I got Shepard around 3 years ago, when I got him he was not feeling very well. It was explained he had a cold. It was after a few weeks when I begun to notice something was wrong: I brought him to the vet and he turned out he has a very common virus - Feline Herpesvirus - A recurring virus. I had no idea this was the beginning that would lead to Entropian.

About awhile ago I notice he was doing a lot of squinting and his fur was touching his eye. At first I thought it was part of his virus but when I did a lot of reading online I realize this was not normal.

When I brought him to the vet we went over what was happening and that was when I learned about Entropian.

What is Entropian?

"Entropion in Cats. Entropion is a genetic condition in which a portion of the eyelid is inverted or folded inward against the eyeball. This results in irritation and scratches to the cornea -- the front surface of the eye -- leading to corneal ulceration, or corneal perforation." Pet MD

What does it mean for Shepard?

Image having an eyelash in your eye. Ouch right? Image having it poke your eye in the same spot over and over again and there is no way to remove that eyelash.

I went to the vet four times in dealing with this condition but it is not going back to normal. I had to go to a specialist next and was finally told the only solution is surgey.

Shepard and I

About three and a half years ago I moved away from family and friends for my job. It has been a lonely adventure and I still find myself missing my family greatly. I have one cat with me her name is Tali but she is always a more private kind of cat and she became extremely cranky since I am away at 10 hours  day.

So came in Shepard an attempt at bringing companionship to Tali. But he became more than that.

Shepard is always by my side cuddling me and making me realize I am not alone at home. He loves to be carried around the house around my neck or sometimes he will plop down on top of me and fall asleep. And no amount of movement will make him get up and move.

He is a very loveable and cuddly cat and it breaks my heart knowing this condition is causing him pain and discomfort.

Thank you so much!

I will keep you all updated and thank you so much for your time and donation :)
