Sheffield University Volleyball Club has grown beyond belief in the past few years. We are a thriving university sports club with 2 men's teams, 2 women's teams, a development squad and 2 recreational sessions a week, where everyone of all abilities is welcome.
Our clubs members come from all corners of the globe but are united by our passion for volleyball, and over recent years we have gone from strength to strength, to the extent that we have now been awarded a performance sport at our university. We volunteer across our local community, have successfully raised over £200 for our chosen charities since September, and our teams compete weekly in BUCS and YVA leagues.
Recently, our four teams competed in the Student Cup in Leeds. It was a day filled with an excellently high standard of volleyball and showed the true determination and love for the sport that our teams have, as they battled through the day. Our amazing Women's 1st and Men's 1st teams hard work payed off with both teams finishing top of their respective pool, meaning they qualify for the finals in Norwich in February. We are so proud and incredibly excited to see what the future holds for these incredible players.
However, the entry costs for this next stage are £200 a team, money which unfortunately we just don't have. It would be such a shame to see the effort which our members have put in, to go to waste if they can't attend the finals. This means so much to us as a club, as it gives members of all abilities inspiration and a goal. It puts volleyball on the map of high achieving sports clubs within our university, which will only increase our membership and allow our club to grow further in the future.
Every penny counts, please help our teams qualify to the next stage of the Student Cup It is such an amazing opportunity for our men and women, but also for our whole club.
