Thursday, Febuary 16, 2017 was the day of my grandmothers funeral. At 11pm that night my family was hit with another tremendous loss, the death of Raheem Martin, 24 and Symir Yelverton, 23, brothers that were both violently killed by multiple gun shot wounds to the chest, only hours after saying there last good byes to there grandmother.
Raheem and Symir were sons, fathers, brothers, cousins and so much more. They kept our family smiling when we had nothing to smile about. They protected their family and tried to be better men for their children. This will be a loss that my family will not easliy get over.
Along with coping with this loss my family is also trying to come up with the money for both funeral services. My family was in no way prepared for anything like this and we appreciate any help that is given.
We will be having Islamic servises for them and we would like to have them burried within three days.
I Dianna Muwakkil, will be taking charge in planning everything so their mother Maria Yelverton can grieve and focus on her remaining three children and grand-children.
