Please help send Jody Sawatzki to Interlochen Center for the Arts 2019-2020
Jody just finished eighth grade in advanced studies at White Pine Middle School and has recently been accepted into Interlochen Center for the Arts to study guitar. This is a high school in Interlochen Michigan with the highest quality artistic training combined with comprehensive college preparatory academics.
Jody was born at 28 weeks gestation weighing only 2 and half pounds. Despite a long 76 days in the NICU with heart and breathing issues, a hernia surgery and a diagnosis of hydrocephalus, he fought hard and came home. We believe his love of music started in the NICU where his father would play all different kinds of music for him. He always responded well to it. This love of music continued to grow throughout his life. Seven years ago, he was able to start free music lessons through Major Chords for Minors, a nonprofit that gives free lessons to kids that cannot otherwise afford them. Major Chords has fostered Jody's love for music and helped him become the musician he is today.
Jody's dream has always been to go to Interlochen Center for the Arts for high school. Even though the cost is way more than his family could afford, he applied. HE WAS ACCEPTED!! Jody has been given two scholarships, covering some of the tuition, but still needs around $5,000 to be able to make his dreams come true.
Please help Jody and his family. They are looking for donations, big or small to help offset some of the cost. Let’s send Jody to Interlochen Center for the Arts to study with the best instructors to grow his musical talent. These donations will go directly to Jody and will cover things like the remaining tuition, cost of a required laptop, travel, uniforms, equipment, etc.
