Hello!
My name is Daia Hiramatsu; I am an 18 year old vocal percussionist from Aichi, Japan. This past December, I auditioned for a world wide competitive summer camp in Los Angeles, California and have recently been accepted! Every year, less than 90 applicants from all around the world are accepted to come to Los Angeles to learn A Cappella from the best of the best.
A Cappella has been my passion ever since I came across a video of Pentatonix performing their "Daft Punk" medley. It took me a while to realize that every note and beat had been produced by their mouths, and their mouths alone. Kevin's beat-boxing blew me away - I couldn't wrap my mind around the way he replicated the sounds of the drum. From that moment on, I was inspired to pick up beat-boxing myself. Over time, I honed my skills, and before long, I found myself creating my own covers and arrangements.
I am BEYOND excited to be able to join A Cappella Academy this year; however, the camp tuition comes to $1995, not including fees and airfare. Since I live in japan, I have quite the distance to travel and plane tickets cost up to $2000 so I need your help!
