Help Scott Scarvelli Climb Those Stairs!

In February of 2011 my life completely changed! What started off like a normal day of mine ended with a life altering accident that would change my life forever.

On my third birthday my parents purchased me a Yamaha PW50 and from that day motocross was my everything! There was never a point in my life that riding wasn’t what I loved the most. Every chance I had, riding was all I ever wanted to do! Unfortunately that all changed on February 13, 2011. I ended up having a practice crash that would paralyze me from the chest down. It was absolutely devastating to not only me but my family. This was something we have heard about happening but never in a million years believed it could be us.

As the recovery process took place my hopes, dreams, and prayers stayed high! From my friends and family to there friends and family the overwhelming support was incredible. It made the tough times easier knowing so many people cared so much! During this time three little words completely changed my life and now is something i live my life based on! NEVER GIVE UP! Who knew those words could mean so much!

With this attitude I knew there was never a mountain that would be to high to climb, nor would I ever let this injury stop me from doing the things I wanted to do. This didn’t mean there wouldn’t be obstacles in the way, but that I could do whatever I set my mind to. With that being said one of the biggest obstacles in my life are stairs.

Stairs are a wheelchairs worst enemy and most don’t realize, but they are everywhere! Almost every place you look, there are stairs! This has gotten in the way of me being able to do so many things I want to do and I finally found a solution!

Like with all things medical, equipment is never cheap! But I have found a solution that will help take the difficulties away and allow me to be more independent and bring me one step closer to living life as a normal individual.

I am raising money to help me purchase a stair climber that is portable that will allow me to get up any flight of stairs. It is a device that I sit in and it will climb the stairs safely without having to be carried or risking injuring anyone.

This would allow me to do so many things that In the last 8 years I haven’t been able to do!

I would like to thank everyone personally for helping me get to the next level! I really appreciate all the support I have gotten over the years and hope everyone knows this means more to me then anything!
