Help Scott Graham after cardiac arrest

Our brother, Scott Graham, 53, is in need of support. As a physical trainer, actor, and musician, Scott is an inspiration to everyone who knows him. Through hard work and determination he has overcome so much—addiction, a move to a new country, regaining the extraordinary level of fitness that made him a national Marine Youth Physical Fitness champion at age 17 in the US (a record he held for 27 years!), and a top CrossFit and weightlifting competitor through his 50s in Denmark—until he butted up against the one health challenge over which he had no control: genetics. At september 24 2019, Scott suffered full cardiac arrest, the same condition that killed his father and grandfather, and from which we weren’t sure he’d return. But he emerged from surgery and coma like the champion he is.
Scott is slowly fighting his way back to his old peak physical (and mental) condition, and while he is recovering a lot faster than what is normal, the cardiac arrest has had dire concequences for him and his family: he won’t be able to work for at least three months and he will have to take expensive heart medication for the rest of his life.
The goal of this fundraising is therefore to seek funds to get him the medications he needs and to support his family while he and his wife, who is on sick leave, care for their three children under the age of ten during the months that he’ll be out of work. Any amount is so appreciated.

Vores bror, Scott Graham, 53, har brug for hjælp. Som personlig træner, skuespiller/model og musiker, er Scott en inspiration for alle, der kender ham. Gennem hårdt arbejdet og beslutsomhed har han overvundet meget — afhængighed, relokation til et nyt land, opnåelse af det ekstraordinære niveau af fitness, der sikrede ham titlen som national “Marine Youth Physical Fitness Champion” som 17-årig i USA (en rekord, han var indehaver af i 27 år!), samt det faktum at han i sine 50’er er blevet en national topatlet i Danmark indenfor både CrossFit og vægtløftning — indtil han stødte ind i en helbredsmæssig udfordring, han ikke havde nogen kontrol over: genetics. Den 24. september 2019 fik Scott et komplet hjertestop — samme lidelse som slog hans far og bedstefar ihjel — og vi var ikke sikre på, at han ville overleve det. Men han klarede sig igennem operationen og det medicinske koma, som den kriger han er.
Scott er langsomt ved at kæmpe sig tilbage til sin gamle, ufattelige fysiske (og psykiske form), og skønt han kommer sig langt hurtigere end normalen, har hjertestoppet haft store konsekvenser for ham og hans familie: Scott vil ikke kunne arbejde i minimum 3 mdr. og han skal være på dyr hjertemedicin resten af sit liv.
Derfor søger vi med denne indsamling økonomisk støtte til Scott, så han kan få sin medicin og sørge for sin familie, mens han og hans kone — som er på sygeorlov — tager sig af deres tre børn, der alle er under 10 — i de måneder, han ikke kan arbejde.
