Help Save Tickles

This gigantic pig saved our tiny piglet's life. Now it's our turn to save hers. Tickles needs a new home, but finding a safe home for a 650-pound pig is not an easy thing to do.
I received a call from a neighbor that the animals on her ranch were not safe; in fact, they were being starved, abused, and neglected. I was also informed that Tickles busted out of her enclosure last night (starving and in search of food) and was nowhere to be found.
I immediately drove the three hours to her ranch with bags and bags of feed not knowing what I was about to find. The animals immediately swarmed around me, clearly knowing I had food. Sadly, one goat was already dead—the alpha goat had killed it competing for food scraps. Seeing the condition of the farm did not give me hope that Tickles would ever return. I was heartbroken. But then, to my surprise, I looked up and saw a big bearlike Tickles bounding down the cliff towards me. She must have smelled the food, what a smart girl. :) She followed me right into her enclosure where I proceeded to dump a big bucket of her feed and then began temporarily repairing her enclosure.
It was easy to relocate the goats, chickens, and ducks….but Tickles is obviously a completely different situation. Can you imagine someone calling you and asking you if they can keep a 650-pound pig at your place…with the condition that they must care for it and never use it for meat?! It’s a very tall order. However, I met a very kind man named Randy. He immediately fell in love with the story of Pickles and Tickles and invited Tickles to live out the rest of her life on his brand new rescue ranch. The best part is his ranch is ONLY 40 MINUTES AWAY FROM OUR HOUSE! :) We can go visit Tickles all the time and make sure she's okay! They just started up, but they have some pretty incredible plans to become a place where veterans and those suffering from PTSD/depression/anxiety can come and bond with the animals. They have also asked me to join their board, so you can rest assured knowing I will be very invovled in the future of this animal rescue/sanctuary.
I was brought to tears when I visited his ranch and was so touched by how kind, earnest, and caring he is towards others and his animals. I could not be luckier if this ends up being Tickles’ forever home. I know that like myself, the majority of you don’t have the time, land, or resources to house Tickles yourselves. But you can help by contributing here. In order to take her, they need helping paying the costs to transport her, feed her, and build her an enclosure.
$350 cost to transport Tickles
$1600 cost for raw fencing materials
$120 just to feed Tickles for one month!
$720 cost to house Tickles for 6 months
(+ cost of labor, fence posts, building out the outdoor enclosures for her half of the barn)
STRETCH GOAL
$1500 cost for the raw materials to build the entire outdoor enclosure surrounding the barn & pen for Tickles AND her smaller pig friends (there are 3 little piggies at her barn!)
I don’t want to see Tickles suffer anymore. It breaks my heart to know she wasn’t being well looked after and that I didn’t find out about it until now. She's such a wonderful, incredible pig…and this sanctuary is going to give her a wonderful life where she’ll get lots of attention, love, yummy snacks, and even get to help others by being a therapy pig for visitors enrolled their pet therapy program that suffer from depression, anxiety, and PTSD. You can trust that your donation will be going to a very special place. I promise to update you guys with the status of Tickles, vlog her transportation to her new ranch, and also put up a video introducing you to the sanctuary and all its adorable residents. This is my promise to you....I just need your help getting there.
