Desperately trying to save this little beautiful girls life!

Saving Lucky

02/15/17:

On Wednesday afternoon my girlfriends and I were leaving lunch around 2:30pm when we saw a dog sprinting on Sunset Blvd./Gower. Running west on Sunset Blvd. We chased her but unfortunately she had gotten hit by a car on Vine St. We picked her up and rushed her to a vet in Hollywood for Emergency care and then to VCA Hospital in West LA for X-rays and oxygen support.

Her diagnosis from VCA:
-Pulmonary contusions
-Hx pneumothorax
-Multiple pelvic fractures (right ilial fracture, right ischial fracture, left pubic fracture)
-Poor anal tone, urinary incontinence
-Sacroiliac luxation (bilateral)
-Abrasions secondary to trauma

The surgery to fix the right hip (the worse side) is approx.  $5,000 and another $3,000 to fix the left side. She will be able to walk okay but with a gimpy left leg, with having just the right side surgically corrected. But, to be able to walk normally she will have to get both sides corrected.

When her hips broke it also caused neuro damage affecting her bowel movements. She isn't able to control her defecation and urination. The hip correction surgery won't fix the bowel issue. But it could help her heal it quicker on its own with all the bones, nerves and muscles being put back into its proper place. The process for this surgery is about 1 week long in the hospital.

Currently, we have paid $260 at the first and nearest vet we could find. Then transferred to VCA . We paid $2,500 for her emergency medical treatment at VCA which include but are not limited to, pain medication, oxygen, fluids, X-rays, blood work, and boarding overnight in the ICU.

2/16/17:
Lucky will be staying another night in the ICU at VCA. They were kind enough to discount the price to $1,700 for her second overnight stay in the ICU.

We have already spent $4,460 on making sure that she is as comfortable as she can be while trying to find her owner and raise money for the multiple surgeries that she needs to be able to walk again.

Including what we have already paid, Saving Lucky will cost approximately $12,500.

2/17/17:
Lucky was stable enough today to be moved to another facility that is willing to help out with keeping costs down to help Lucky!

Lucky looked good today! She was responsive to noise and her surroundings, ears up and eyes wide! She is on painkillers that keep her comfortable, so we assume and hope that she is in no to little pain.

She will be hospitalized over the weekend to recover and get her lungs strong enough to HOPEFULLY perform surgery.

We dont know this dog, we are just trying to save her life because it's a life worth saving. Shis is so young, sweet, calm and beautiful, all it takes for her to be a normal dog again is to have this surgery.

If you are able to help Lucky and donate, ANYTHING is appreciated and will all go to making Lucky the LUCKIEST little pup! Thank you!
