Help save "LAKE WENATCHEE REC SIGN"

When you travel from Seattle or Wenatchee to Lake Wenatchee, you have been guided by this sign at Coles Corner pointing the direction to Lake Wenatchee / Fish Lake recreation area.
This sign appears to have been designed and crafted by Dick Woodcock, a former forest service employee back in the 50's. Before Dick moved away about 10 years ago, he borrowed our bucket truck and applied a fresh coat of paint to the sign. He was in his late 80's at the time!! and because of his love for this sign, wanted to see it maintained. He and his wife moved to Burlington shortly there after and have since both passed away.
The sign's posts have finally rotted completely off at ground level, after 70 years in the ground! The sign was twisting and going to fall if not taken down. After checking with the State and Forest Service, everyone agreed it would be worth saving but no one wanted the responsibility to fix or repair the sign. Leavenworth Electric & Excavation has stepped forward and removed the sign for safe keeping at their own expense. We are going to strip and re-paint the main sign. We are in need of funding to help erect a new base and pole structure to put the sign back up in the air. Concrete, base work, rebar, and poles will run approximately $2500.00. We have asked the Chelan PUD for their help in finding us some good used power poles. We are still waiting for that to happen but are hopeful.
With your help, we can leave this sign to continue to help guide future visitors to our wonderful outdoor area. We hope you will join us in this effort to save and restore this wonderful piece of history in our upper valley. We would love your ideas on a color scheme for the sign. We are thinking of a dark brown or green background with white lettering. We are hoping to have this project replaced and restored by summer's end.
