Please help save Kate! Any and all donations, no matter how small , will go towards Kate's treatment. Give Kate a chance to live! Your contribution will be much appreciated.

My name is Anna
I am a US resident with family in Poltava, Ukraine. During a recent visit with family I sadly discovered that a friend of mine, Andriy Popov, also a former classmate from college, now has a daughter that is being treated for Leukemia. My heart broke for Andriy, his wife, and his little girl Kate. During my stay in Ukraine I saw flyers in all of the buses and a big movement that had started on behalf of little Kate.
Now, back in the USA, I am looking to see what else I can do to help this little girl to improve her chance at a healthy life in the future.
Katerina Popova

Place of birth - Poltava, Ukraine
Katerina Popova (Kate) was born September 24th, 2015 in the City of Poltava, Ukraine. Kate, the daughter of Andry Popov and Natalia Popova was born as healthy and happy as any child.
On December 26, 2016 she woke up in the morning with a bloody nose and by the evening she became very ill.  Kate then was taken to Poltava Children's Hospital where by the next morning she was referred and transported to Kiev Oncology Hospital, where she was diagnosed with the following diseases:
Translation from Ukrainian Hospital Diagnostic

"Acute Myeloblastic Leukemia (AML) is a group of malignant bone marrow neoplasms of myeloid precursors of white blood cells. Acute Megakaryoblastic Leukemia (AML-M7) is a rare type of pediatric AML.
A completely different pathogenic model comprises cardiac manifestation of systemic metabolic diseases caused by deficiencies of various enzymes in a variety of metabolic pathways. ... Keywords: cardiomyopathy, metabolic disorders, mitochondria, diabetes, alcohol."

Kate is to receive three Chemotherapy treatments but after the first treatment she had a bad skin allergy reaction. The doctors are treating her for the allergy so they can continue with the Chemotherapy. Kate also is to receive a Bone Marrow Transplant in which Ukraine is not able to perform. The doctors are referring her to a hospital in Germany and the cost of the surgery would be 220.000,00 Euro.  Kate's family has no way of paying for the cost of this treatment. Family, friends and volunteers have now collected about $36,000.00 US dollars through generous contributions as well as fundraisers in the country.
We are also talking to the family about the possibility of them bringing Kate to the United States for treatment with the assistance of Boston Children’s Hospital.
