Help Save Doug

“Hi everyone, my name is Doug. I was recently adopted after being in the shelter my entire life! Nobody wanted me before because of my “disability”. You see, when I was a kitten, I was the victim of abuse, and I lost the paw on my back right hind leg. I was too little to remember exactly what happened. The shelter thought I was born without the paw, but another vet said that wasn’t the case after my recent visit with my new adopted Dad. My little “stub” never healed properly. This causes me to be in pain a lot.

I was so excited to be out of a cage for the first time in two years after my new Dad brought me home. I was playing around and jumped and landed on all fours (ouch!). This caused my leg bone to poke through my skin, making it bleed and causing a great deal of pain.

My doctor told my Dad that I had two options: either amputate my pawless leg or I would have to be put down. The procedure would take away any risks of me injuring myself more. Unfortunately, my surgery is very expensive, around $800 to be exact! My owner is doing everything he can to get this done for me ASAP, but is coming up a little short (he’s a broke college student!).

I just want to live a normal life again! Please help me get my surgery so I can finally enjoy the life of a normal cat : ) Meow“ -Doug
