Help Save My Friend’s Life!
My dear friend Cléa is in serious danger and she needs help. Her mother, Caroline, became a witness of ongoing economic crime by a highly profitable international company. Ever since, that company made her a target for organized criminal harassment; to the point that her and her daughter had to leave their country and seek asylum. They have become refugees, are in dire need of food, shelter and medical care. At the same time they lack the funds to pay the lawyers who are helping them fight for their freedom, get justice, and get their life back.
Having been in the wrong place at the wrong time, Caroline inadvertently became a witness of the fraudulent activity perpetrated by a powerful international company. Caroline has suffered from this organized harassment against her and her daughter for the past six years. A year ago, the two decided to fight back. They have made a great deal of progress in the last few months, and for the first time in six years, they have a glimmer of hope; but now, they don’t have enough resources left to bring this to an end. The little savings they did have were spent on legal expenses. Some days they have had to choose between paying for a meal or paying their lawyer. They are looking at a homeless, hungry Christmas this year, without a chance of moving forward in their fight for their lives.
Their emergency now: Caroline and Cléa have lost everything: their home and what was in it; have been isolated from their social and professional networks; their online accounts have been repeatedly hacked and tampered with, and both have received multiple severe threats. Furthermore, neither of them have the right to work and Cléa had to stop her pursuit of higher education. They don’t even have access to medical care - which is crucial to Caroline’s health condition.
How your help will be put to use:
Shelter: They need somewhere to live, and even a small room for the two of them has a cost.
Food: They need more than just rice once a day. Caroline has severe health issues, for which a healthy diet is crucial.
Legal fees: Different legal procedures are in progress, such as witness protection and asylum request procedures. These are both lengthy and costly.
Medication: Since Caroline and Cléa are deprived of health insurance, Caroline can no longer afford the medication to treat her condition, let alone pay for any further care for the resulting complications.
