Fundraiser to help Salim
Donation protected
Hello all,
Many of us have heard about Salim, a child with Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) who was adopted from India by Laura Dellicker. Laura is a God sent angel for this sweet little soul and full of love and acceptance for him. But with the adoption comes challenges as medical and other expenses are increasing everyday. His daycare will no longer accept him because Medicaid is taking longer and Laura's private insurance will not cover the nursing care. Please join us in raising funds through 4BetterTomorrow, a 501 (c) (3) non profit organization to help with their medical, food and daycare expenses.
Children with EB are often referred to as "butterfly children" because their skin is as fragile as a butterfly's wings. People with EB are missing the protein that binds our layers of skin together, so any sort of friction causes the skin to blister or tear off.
If we have a small bruise on the body, we complain constantly. Now imagine the entire body covered in blisters and open wounds for your entire life. While living in an orphanage, it was difficult as you have little to no access to the proper medical supplies needed to prevent infection and protect the skin from further damage. Laura is an angel in adopting Salim and bringing him home. But even at home, there are mounting expenses in order to provide the medical care needed for Salim. Let's all come together and help this amazing family.
