Help Ryder Walk Again
After 2 acupuncture sessions, some manual therapy and a dip in the tank, Ryder is starting to show resistance in her legs and holding weight on them when she does her exercises. Also has regained bladder control. We are hoping with some more stimulation we will have enough movement to get her back into the hydrotherapy tank. Fingers crossed!!! Thank you to everyone who has helped so far!!! We go back on Wednesday for another session, will update then.
She has not had surgery. After talking with her doctors and the ongoing issue with these long dogs we decided she wasn't the best candidate for it. She seems to be unaffected by it emotionally so far. With the improvements she is already making though the therapist seems optimistic. We are doing her 3rd acupuncture treatment Wednesday and then evaluate her again. Her legs and toes are starting to move a little and she has been bearing weight on her legs. All great signs!!! Doc says she wants to see more action in the back end before we try her in the tank again. Basically her initial evaluation included the tank session but she used it more to see if she would try but no movement that day... hoping for some more improvements after lots of legs stretches every day!!!
Has Ryder had surgery and is now doing water therapy in a tank ?
She has been taken off her muscle relaxer and is now on half a 0.5mg tab of Dexamethasone once daily and a dropper full of Back Pain Remedy twice daily. Have an appointment Monday at 12 and we will update everyone from there as to her prognosis and treatment plan.
What meds is she on?
Thank everyone who has helped out so far. We really appreciate it and will keep everyone updated
