Help Rusty Walker Beat Cancer

Rusty (Urbanna, VA) has had a feeling for several months now that things were just not right with his health. He spent months trying to brush it off, but it came to a point were he was just too sick to go work. That was when he finally agreed that it was time to seek some real answers beyond what he was hearing from his visits to the local Urgent Care. After several doctor visits, X-rays, CT scans, etc. Rusty finally got the answer he was looking for and it was not the answer that anyone ever wants to hear. On October 25th 2018 Rusty was diagnosed with cancer. He was admitted to VCU Medical Center that night and his stay there would last two weeks. During that stay he was officially diagnosed with Stage 4 Bladder Cancer. Following that visit he travelled to and from Richmond daily to a 10 day radiation treatment. Due to some unforeseen complications on November 19 Rusty was taken to Walter Reed and then flown to Richmond where he would spend another 10 day at VCU, 5 of those days in the Critical Care Unit.

Christy has been by his side every step of the way. She has been unable to get many hours in at work due to the hospital stays, trips to and from Richmond and Rusty's need of constant care.


Next week (12/10) Rusty will start Chemotherapy in Richmond.

This family needs to focus on fighting this awful disease and we can help them by relieving some of their financial burdens.
