Please help Ready Set Recycle continue making a difference to the Environment!
Hello everyone, my name is Grant Heggie and I am reaching out to you for help. The need is, I am afraid very urgent.
Ready Set Recycle, along with its earlier incarnation Set/Reset Inc, has rescued many thousands of tons of scenery, props, materials and wardrobe items from the landfill and found them homes helping other productions, schools and artists do things they could not otherwise do. Along the way we have supported a host of supporting companies with good paying business.
Over those same years we have sponsored countless projects and initiatives with cash contributions and donations of materials. All of this without any government funding support! We have also collected food bank donations at every sale, resulting in thousands of pounds of food being collected to feed the needy! Over the lives of these two companies we have issued over $1 million in paychecks to artists in a variety of mediums.
To So why do we need help?
In order to to increase out recycling operations even further. We opened a full time set sale shop so shows could send items and we would sell it for them and divide the proceeds. It has not worked out well at all. Due to the very late start of the film season this year and the number of episodic productions vs movies of the week and feature films, we’ve faced a shortage of sellable inventory to offer. The cash flow has gone negative and there is no short-term way to reverse that. We closed the shop at the end of December 2018 and for the time being our cash flow has been turned off completely. What also is not helping is that both my rotator cups are seriously injured and I lack the funds to get the physio therapy I require.
This brings us to the call to action! I need your help to keep Ready Set Recycle from bankruptcy so that it can spring back to life when the film and TV productions ramp back up!
Money raised will be used to help retire some bank debt and settle with creditors. With the closure of the shop, we will return Ready Set Recycle to how it had been doing things previously - using the firepower of the website - over 1.5 million page views per year! - to save everyone money and save items from the landfill.
