Help Preston kick start a Makerspace in Nicaragua

Hello friends!
This November I will be traveling with a small team to San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua. Our mission is to kick start a small 3D printing lab that will be located in the community library. We are asking for your help!
Here's the idea...
We would like to purchase a few 3D printers, a computer, and all of the necessary startup consumables to be installed in the very popular San Juan del Sur Biblioteca . While there, I will be personally training many staff and volunteers how to use this equipment, how to train patrons on the equipment, and how to help local entrepreneurs utilize 3D printing and computer aided design to prototype their ideas. And much, much more! How cool is that!
We are also hoping that this lab will provide a place for the community to come in and create 3D prints that will easily repair broken everyday items. There is an unfortunate reality in Nicaragua that it is extremely difficult for the community to get spare parts for these items. We are also hopeful that it will provide a place for artists and crafty patrons to express their ideas in a whole new way!
Who are SJDS Biblioteca you ask?
Read about the history of the biblioteca here . It is truly a great story about how Ms. Jane Mirandette launched the idea of making her small hotel's book borrowing system into a full fledged community library with the support of the community leaders and educators! Jane also established a Colorado non-profit organization, the Hester J. Hodgdon Libraries For All Program , to provide a much-needed conduit to financial support for the library. Both programs work hand in hand to promote the lending mobile of libraries in a grass roots way all over Nicaragua.
