Help Potential Kids Find a New Home

Donation protected
Just under one year ago, we set up Potential Kids.  Before we even opened, our centre was destroyed by vandals, however, with the support of our wonderful community, we fought back and opened our centre.

Our aim was simple; to provide a safe, accessible and supportive place for families of children with Autism and ADHD to go.  Somewhere for children to learn, relax and enjoy themselves, free from judgement, where families could enjoy some respite.

We launched in March and, since then, our growth has been astounding.  Over 1,500 families (75% of the local need) have come through our doors.  Potential Kids has also been used by numerous local charities and organisations for training/support purposes during this time (YMCA, Oakland’s College, ADD-Vance and Families in Focus to mention just a few) and we all work together to support our most vulnerable.

It is hard to put in to words just how much it has meant to us to be able to provide groups for Girls, Parents/Carers and the Tic Disorders / Tourette’s Syndrome communities, and to see children who have been alienated and isolated begin to enjoy themselves again, and shine.

We were devastated when we learned that our building, for which we have always been so very grateful, had been bought by the local Council and that we had only 7 weeks to exit and find a new, secure and suitable home.

Unfortunately, although we were very grateful for the alternatives that were offered to us by WHC, they were not suitable and did not offer us the space and storage we require to be able to continue offering our families the much needed safe and appropriate environment we’ve been able to provide to date.

Therefore, we are once again asking for your help; this time, to support us in finding a safe and appropriate alternative venue.  So please, keep your eyes and ears open as there must be a suitable, empty space somewhere that we could transform into the special, magical Potential Kids space we know and love.

Please donate to support our families and Potential Kids to enable us to bring joy and peace for a long time to come.
