Help Perry pay his bills!

Donation protected
On the morning of December 5th around 830 am, my Chihuahua/ Pomeranian dog, Perry, was attacked by a Rottweiler named Stanley at Paul Garfinkle park (1071 Queen Street West). I didn’t have the chance to get the information from the owner as I rescued Perry from the Rottweiler’s mouth and ran to Queen West Animal hospital.

The woman walkingStanley was having trouble managing him. He was pulling her around and at one point she even tripped from being pulled so hard. Having grown up with a Rottweiler, I offered to help her control her dog, as she was quickly losing control of him and I wanted to ensure the safety of both her and her dog around the construction area a little down the street.

This is when her dog lunged at Perry and bit him. I wrestled the dog's jaw open, grabbed Perry and ran to the Queen West Animal Hospital (bless them!). I didn’t get any information from her because Perry was my main priority and he was bleeding and screaming as I was running trying to save him.

When I got to the vet, I was covered in Perry's blood and the staff immediately took him and stabilized him enough so I could transport him to the Central Toronto Veterinary Emergency Clinic on Eglington (bless them as well!). where they performed more tests and eventually surgery on his chest to explore any further damage. Perry had 2 puncture wounds on his neck, 1 on his back, a major puncture on his chest and a fractured scapular spine. His right eye was swollen and bruised but not damaged further.

He was in the hospital on IV pain killers and had drainage tubes in his neck and chest for 3 days. He ended up needing 16 stitches. He returned home on the 7th and is recovering well.

The funds raised will be to cover Perry's vet bills as they are exceeding the $5,800 mark with 2 more check-ups scheduled. If donations are exceeded, I would very much like to give back to Queen West Animal Hospital and CTVEC.

As you all know, Perry means the world to me and has been my constant companion through some incredibly difficult times. You know how happy-go-lucky and vocal he is, and I can’t wait for him to get back to his wonderful self. He is still on the road to recovery, but is happy to be home. P and I would be extremely grateful for any help and immensely appreciate the love of our community <3
