We’ve all got that utterly selfless friend who would do anything for us and never ever dream of asking for anything in return.
That’s Pauline.
She comforted her siblings and father after losing their mother to Cancer, she’s supported three friends through their divorces (me included), she’s helped us move house countless times — even driving a massive removals van where necessary! She’s listened and gave advice during every other crisis imaginable. She is always there when you need her.
Pauline went to Bali to get away from it all on a last minute holiday. She needed a break from work, wanted to have some time to herself to rest.
She decided to brave it and travel alone, as a single woman. What could go wrong? You think...
Travel insurance. Do you need it? Do you already have it? You think it’s never going to happen to you...
But it did to Pauline.
Trying to let her hair down and get fully into the holiday vibe, she hired a scooter... and then the nightmare began... she had a really bad accident. She broke her leg badly.
After visiting the first hospital, and being turned away, as they couldn’t treat her, she then had to take a boat to another island, alone, to receive the urgent medical treatment she needed.
She thought she had travel insurance through her company benefits scheme. But she was wrong.
She’s tried the British Embassy and British Consulate, but they just said “ask your family to help you...”
Which normal working class family has £15K to £30K to spare?! ♀️
Pauline is currently stranded in a hospital in Bali, recovering from an operation on her broken leg. We need to bring her home.
The medical and evacuation/ repatriation costs are mounting. She’s currently maxing out all credit cards and extending their credit limits to try and cover all the costs herself.
It’s time to help her in the way she would never dream of asking us to help her!
Please dig deep and help ease the pressure of being broken, stranded and alone without family or friends in Bali.
