Patricia (Fries) Holmes suffered a broken leg and shattered heel on March 26, 2018. Unfortunately, that was the beginning of discovering further medical issues. On June 28, 2018, Patricia was diagnosed with Cushing’s Syndrome and Adrenal Cortical Cancer, which has spread beyond her adrenal gland to many other parts of her body. She is currently being treated in Kenosha, WI and at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, supported by her loving family, husband Greg, son Brandon, and many siblings, in-laws, nieces & nephews, and friends.
I'm Mark, her brother, and I am organizing this campaign on behalf of the family.
The cancer is very rare, occurring in only 1-2 patients per million per year. Therefore, the medication to treat it will also be quite expensive. The treatment will involve chemotherapy, and regular visits to the Mayo Clinic, as well as treating other conditions as they arise, such as dialysis which became necessary today (July 19).
The money we are raising will be used to support her growing medical bills, expensive medications, additional professional in-home care, hospital expenses, and transportation to the Mayo Clinic. Any help for Pat and her family is greatly appreciated.
