Help Pastor JT Kelly Family

This journey began at the beginning of August when J.T. took a very drastic fall at home. Little did he know, but he had broken three ribs, and fluid was beginning to gather around his lungs and the broken bones.  He traveled quite a distance to perform a funeral, and when he returned home, we began to see a decline. About a week later, after seeing his regular doctor, J.T. was admitted to the hospital, when the broken ribs and gathering fluids were detected.  The doctors began procedures to remove the fluid, but things did not go as expected. The procedure, which was to take only two -three days to complete had now stretched into a two week stay - during which June stayed by his side, except for a 5 hour visit home to repack clothes and check on their home. J.T. and June began to hope that maybe they would be going home soon, but we would quickly find that would not be the case.  J.T. took a horrific downward turn as multiple infections were discovered, his liver and kidney function began to decline, and his blood pressures and blood sugars drastically dropped. The crash team had to be called in two times during the night. In a two-three hour period J.T. went from a regular room, to Intermediate Care, to Medical ICU. The roller coaster did not stop there. In two days J.T.’s condition declined further as he was placed on a ventilator, constant medications to keep his blood pressure in a less critical range, and he was aggressively treated with up to seven antibiotics to try to gain an advantage on the infections.  In the background, J.T. is trying to fight all of this along with his 7 year fight with Myelodysplastic Anemia and stage 3 kidney failure. This hospital stay continues to progress past 24 days, and J.T. is on a long road to recovery before doctors can even consider sending him home.

As we are sure you can imagine, the expenses are mounting up, not only the hospital bills but the expense for the family who are driving in to the hospital every day and then back home and having to eat most of their meals out. June has been at the hospital round the clock now for all but one short trip home for 5 hours, since August 10. They have not complained or said anything about the expense, but knowing that the cost has to be staggering, I went to them and told them I would like to set this page up to get them some financial relief. The hospital bills are going to be staggering and this will barely make a dent in what JT and June will owe, so I’m hoping we exceed the goal, but whatever is raised will be such a blessing to a family that has blessed so many of us over the years.
