Emil from Kroger on Wake Forest rd. was the best thing about going to the grocery store. He would always greet you with: "Hi my angel", "Hey my friend", " Hey my brother" . He was a breath of fresh air when it came to shopping there. Always helpful, cheerful and you could just tell he was a good soul. I noticed him missing from the Kroger self check out lines a few months back and just assumed he got another job. My neighbor Jackie ran into him at Lowes hardware this past weekend and he informed her he had Pancreatic Cancer. He told her he was very afraid. I was able to contact Emil by phone and I told him there were many people in the communtiy he had touched and they wanted to help him. Kroger was his life and family. He told me his customers were everything to him. I cannot express how grateful and emotional he was when I told him our community wanted to help. He is currently out of work and is receiving chemothearpy at Rex hospital. He has a wife and two small children. If Emil has ever touched your heart or put a smile on your face then please donate so we can alleviate some of the financial burden that this disease has put on him and his family.
*** UPDATE*** Please check back if you would like to find out where Emil's event will be held if you would like to come. We are going to hold a special event for Emil where we can present him with a Jumbo sized check of all the Go Fund Me funds we raise and to show our love and support for him. The money raised and the outpouring of support from thecommunity has put so much light into him during this dark time. We are still in need of a business space, gym or restaurant to have it at. Something that could hold at least 200 people. If you have one to offer or know someone please send me a message on here or Facebook. We will also need a cake. The Next Door App is where we were able to come together and get this going but if you are not on there and would like to make Flyers for your neighborhood or local business's please do so. We can use all the help we can get spreading the word! Thank you again!!!
