Help Our Community Playground!

We need you!!! Our Community Playground in Southwest Harbor, Maine is in desperate need of renovation! It's also our school playground and enjoyed by kids of all ages (even middle school and high school kids) all year round. The Southwest Harbor Playground Renovation Fund is championing this cause.
Unfortunately, most of our playground elements are over 30 years old with other elements even older than that! I'm worried about the idea of our kids having little or no equipment to play on while we raise funds to replace what needs to be taken out. We're a small town with no Parks and Rec Department but are visited by people from around the world as we're on the edge of Acadia National Park. This new playground will surely get a lot of love and appreication!
I'm a parent of 2 young children who use this playground daily. I also teach at the school and supervise recess where excited kids should be able to swing and climb and slide, developing their friendships along with developing their strength and endurance on a fun and structurally sound playground.
All funds we raise will go directly to financing the playground renovation including play elements, safety fencing, wood chips and areas of handicapped accessable surfacing. The goal of 10,000 listed here is only part of what the final project will cost, and will certainly help in a big way!
Any amount would be greatly appreicated! Could you spread the word? We all know fundraising can be difficult, but reaching a goal and helping kids is SO rewarding!
