Help our Leo

$860 of $3,000 goal

Raised by 24 people in 8 months
Please help my daughter and my grand-fur-baby, our little 3 year old Leo. He is needing some extensive medical treatment to help bring him home. Thankfully he isn’t suffering or in any pain but does require around the clock medical care for pancreatitis, a fungal infection which we believe is Valley Fever, and a high fluctuating fever. We did find a nodule in his right lung also which requires a needle aspiration.

If you know by daughter, you know she would gladly give up everything for her babies Lily and Leo. Those are her babies, her loves, her everything. She is a definition of someone that is completely selfless, compassionate, and caring. You also know that she is pregnant with my very first grand-human-baby. This is so much for her to take on and want to help her as much as I can. I know asking for help isn’t easy for her so I am doing it for her. My baby girl would be the first to step up to help anyone in need, and I hate to see her in much pain. I’m hoping this will help relieve some stress on her end because we all know that isn’t good for anyone, especially  with her being pregnant. You’d be help out my beautiful baby girl, my grand-fur-baby Leo, and my grandson she is carrying.

I thank you all in advance for taking the time to even read this. Even I f you can’t donate, PLEASE SHARE!! Please help spread the word.

UPDATE 10/2 1030a

Both the vet and radiologist are on the same page believing that Leo has a fungal infection which is most likely Valley Fever.

Please keep your fur babies safe. We never knew dogs could get it. It’s airborn, and we have construction literally right behind our apartments which kicks up the fungal spore. We are thinking Leo got it bad because his immune system was already down due to the pancreatitis that he has. Remember that fatty foods and treats are a NO- NO for dogs and can cause pancreatitis and a low immune system. Most dogs don’t get Valley Fever bad but younger and older dogs can and dogs with a low immune system.

Poor Leo is forever on lockdown after he’s home. Special food. Special meds. No outside privileges. Valley Fever doesn’t go away overnight and requires a lengthy anti-fungal treatment.

Now we wait for the anti-fungal meds to start working and for his temperature to come down to normal so we can bring him home for home monitoring.

UPDATE FROM 10/1

Leo’s temperature is fluctuating between 103-104. (Normal dog temp is from 99.5-102.5) His temp is being regulated with IV fluids and by using an ice pack to cool the floor he is laying on. He is eating and sleeping well, hasn’t been coughing much overnight, taking his meds well, and isn’t in any pain. Please send prayers and positive vibes that we see some changes soon. We can use everything we can get. The vet is confident that we are finally on the correct course of action in his care. Trial and error treatment is so hard to go through, in both dogs and humans.

Valley Fever is no joke, in both dogs and humans. Please be sure to keep yourself educated about this terrible airborn fungal disease that is common in our area.

Thank you all for caring so much and for taking the time to read this update.

Love and missing our little love
