Help oneeye Augusto for his surgery

Donation protected
This is Augusto. He showed up on my backyard patio on August 14th. He kept meowing and stayed in front of my sliding  door the whole night. We wasn’t sure if he is a stray cat or feral cat. But he was definitely in pain and needed help.We started feeding him water and food.
He became a regular. He would come every night and run away into the woods in the morning.
We started gaining his trust. After a week he’d let me pet him and rub my foot.
Our friend Jimi arranged clinic for him and we started working on a rescue plan.

I finally got a clear photo of his eye, and Jimi has been consulting with several eye specialists around town.
On Aguest 27, I brought him inside my house and got him ready for the vet appointment next day.
We came up with different capture plans. Jimi even brought a trap. But at midnight when Augusto showed up, I opened a tuna can and placed it in the carrier, and he just walked in. When I closed the door, he only meowed once and didn’t fight or struggle at all. I can tell from him that he knows he’s been saved.
He was staying in my bathroom and we found out he knows how to use the litter box!!! He was someone’s baby once, definitely not a feral.

The next day day we brought him to the clinic.
The vet couldn’t find microchip on him, so we got him microchipped, neutered, tested, we also gave him rabies and FVRCP vaccines and revolution drop, treated his ear mite, several different injections.  The vet told us he is about 2 or 3 years old. He is a domestic medium hair and Siamese. He was weighed 10 pounds but he should be about 15 lbs.

The biggest concern was his eye. Other than that, he is a health baby.
So the vet said his eye is still in there and wouldn’t recommend taking it out, they will also consult with their head vet and see what should be done.

So we found him a nice foster home. Hilary is his foster mom and she is also a nurse. She’s been taking care of Augusto for 2 weeks now. She told us he is so sweet and gentle and he even acted like a big brother to help other new foster cats familiar with the foster home.

This is from Hilary, the foster mom:
He lets you pet him anywhere. I just rubbed his chin, paws and belly all the time to get him used to being touched. He is the perfect kitty. Gentle, sweet, super cuddly...Plus, he’s so handsome

In the meantime, after bringing  him to different vets and eye specialists, the final decision is that he will need an eye surgery.  The estimate is about $1220 and it is beyond what we can afford out of our pockets. But Augusto need this surgery. With his eye current opened, every time he uses litter box, the litter will end up in his eye and it’s painful to get those out. We really want to fix his eye so he can be adopted-ready and have an easy, not that painful life.

His surgery is scheduled on October 6th 11:30am. We really need all the help we can get to stop his pain. We would thank you so much for helping Augusto and giving him a better life.
