Help one of our own - Joanne Miller

OK Mountain Neighbors and Friends, it is time for us to come together and help one of our own, Joanne Miller.

Many things have occured with Jo this year. A lot of loss. Divorce, moving out, having to rehome all of her chickens that she raised and lovingly cared for, and even some of her beloved pets because it is hard to find a rental that will allow you to have pets. For those of you lucky enough to know Jo, you already understand that these animals were part of her, not just "animals".  That in itself was a huge loss and source of grief. As all of this was going on, her son was diagnosed with brain cancer.  He moved home and Jo would be his caretaker as he went through chemo and radiation and even surgery. When the divorce happened, they had to move. They found a small apartment that they split the rent. It was the only way they could afford it. 

He lost his battle and passed away on December 9th. 

 Now, Jo is left alone and will not be able to pay the rent.

Jo has done a lot for this community and has helped many folks and animals. This is not easy for her to be on the receiving end (but I wore her down to allow me to set this fund up to help her make ends meet). 

OUR GOALS: 
1)Raise enough funds to enable her to stay in her place until the lease runs out this summer. She has enough grief and stress without worrying about how she will pay rent.
2) Raise enough funds to help her move yet again and hopefully have enough of a pet deposit so that she may keep her two dogs and cat. 

She has lost so much this past year. Let's try to help her keep a roof over her head and her little ones with her and give her some peace of mind to allow her to grieve for her son and not have to worry about the rest right now.

Please contribute what you can and let's show her what we are all about - helping a neighbor in time of need.
