To know Nicole (Tabor) Petersen is to adore her, and to watch her go through this hardship is heartbreaking. At the young age of 38, Nic was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer. With her two beautiful girls, amazing fiancé, and soon-to-be step children by her side, she is fighting the fight like the warrior she is. In the 7 months since her diagnosis she has completed 6 rounds of chemo, and most recently had a double mastectomy. After her surgery she found out that her “margins” weren’t clean (still contained cancer cells) and  would have to endure another 14 rounds of chemo, 35 rounds of radiation and another major surgery for reconstruction. To say it has been a nightmare is an understatement. While she would want nothing more than to be working full time, she is unable because after every round of chemo or surgery, she is back in bed for weeks. Her “job” right now is to survive, and it’s not a well paying one.

Nicole is truly the last person to ask for help. It took several conversations for her to allow this gofundme to take place, but when you need help, you need help.

When she initially received her diagnosis, she (and her doctors) thought she would go into 2020 on the mend and cancer-free. Unfortunately with set back after set back, 2020 will be another year into her fight. With that comes another $5000 insurance deductible...on top of mounting medical bills, Christmas, kids birthdays and so much more.

Nicole and Justin were planning on getting married next month, but those plans have been put on hold while she fights. The planned wedding date is now May 2020 and part of the money raised would be to clear away some financial struggles caused by her fight to give them the low stress wedding day they deserve.

She needs our help. And we ALL KNOW that if we needed her help, she would be there for us. It’s time to show Nicole and her family that she can lean on her village. Let’s get her deductible paid, and give her family a stress free Christmas (and maybe cover some extra bills) so she can focus on fighting her fight.

Thank you for reading and thank you for sending your love her way. You already know this, but ANY AMOUNT helps.
