Help my son go to France for WW1 restoration

Donation protected
On April 20, 1918, The village of Seicheprey came under attack by German forces. Connecticut troops from the 102nd Infantry Regiment defended the town. Unfortunately, after heavy losses for both sides, the village was completely destroyed. After the war, Connecticut citizens helped the village rebuild.

This year, on the 100th anniversary of the battle, 15 students from Connecticut were hand picked to travel to Seicheprey, France to help restore the trench line the 102nd Connecticut Infantry Regiment fought in.  Over the course of 20 days, these students will work with 15 French and or German students to help create a historic attraction to promote tourism and education.

My son, Joseph Viski, is one of the students selected to go to Seicheprey, France, to help with the restoration.  Words cannot describe how I felt when he told me he was selected. Proud is an understatement! He worked hard to get to this point and he has my full support. Joseph is an avid history buff and collector of war memorabilia from that era.  He has received a certificate of recognition in school for his voluntary presentation on chemical warfare in WWI. Joseph hopes to become a history teacher, and having an opportunity like this will help him to attain his future goals as a teacher or a similar field.  The work he will be doing is voluntary, the funds I am requesting is the cost for his flight, meals, room, etc.  As his parent, this is a large expense, but as any good parent knows, I cannot let an opportunity like this pass by. To anyone that donates to this cause, Thank You! You will help my son have an unforgettable experience in restoring a place where Connecticut infantry once stood 100 years ago.
