Help my family survive Harvey!

Donación protegida
How do you reach out and ask for help when you don't even know where to start????

Hurricane Harvey has left Houston TX in devastation, and unfortunately our family was part of that. Last Wednesday, my fiancé Andre Johnson left to pick up my son Ayden from the Houston area where he was visiting his dad for the summer. While there, Andre stayed with daughter Ashly and her 3yr old daughter who recently relocated to the Houston area for Ashly to pursue her career and finish up college. A simple trip quickly turned into a nightmare nobody saw coming.

Andre and Ayden we're not able to return back home to WA due to Harvey moving in fast and taking Houston underwater. Ayden will miss his first couple days, if not weeks of school as a big 4th grader here in WA. Andre will also miss countless days of work.

With no power, floodwaters rise to an unsafe level, numerous tornadoes touching down it left our family vulnerable and in harm’sway. On Sunday they were evacuated from Ashly’s apartment where everything was left behind. The only items they had were the clothes on their back and a small back pack full of items. They had to walk in waist high waters to get to first responders on boat. They were taken to a convention center that was already at full capacity with no cots, blankets, or food left. The nearest hotel was 9 blocks away, which they all four had to run to get there. After a long night of complete devastation they are finally safe in a hotel.

Andre is the sole provider for our family, as I'm unable to work due to battling Multiple Sclerosis.  Andre and I also have our 2yr old daughter at home. Andre is the most loving selfless man I know, and his character speaks amazing volumes of the kind of man he is.Everyone who knows Andre knows he's not one to ask for help because he does the helping. With all the tragedy and expenses piling up from being stranded money is running extremely low.

They need help with nightly hotel costs so they can remain safe where they are currently staying. Food expenses and personal hygiene products are adding up as they left behind everything.

As the tropical storm continues to roll in, they are facing several more days ahead of torrential rain showers pounding the area. It’sunclear when Ashly will be able to return to work or if her and her 3yr old daughter will have a home to return to.

The expenses due from a catastrophic storm taking place are not to be over looked by our blessings that everyone is safe. I know this is just the beginning of a long road ahead as we wait for Andre and Ayden’s safe return home, and we get Ashly and her daughter back on their feet. Any donation will help in this time of crisis and is very much appreciated.
