Help Munsef and Masara

Donation protected
Munsef, 9 and Masara, 6 are siblings from Libya and are suffering from complications due to a rare blood disease called Fanconi anemia.

In 2015, after Munsef had previously undergone 2 surgeries for congenital malformation anddevelopmental dysplasia of the hip/CHD Congenital Hip Dislocation, he began to experience constant exhaustion and black patches covered his body. Exams and blood tests revealed that his blood cell level and plates were extremely low for his age and he was diagnosed with Fanconi anemia. His siblings were examined, and we received the heart-breaking news that his sister, Masara was also suffering from the same illness. The health condition of Munsef and Masara have deteriorated and are in urgent need of Blood and bone marrow stem cell transplants.

For the past two years and since their diagnosis, Munsef and Masara have been undergoing short term treatment which includes: regular blood-count checks, a yearly bone marrow test, screening for tumors and cancer, antibiotic treatments to fight infections, and blood transfusions to increase blood cell count. Although Fanconi anemia is a blood disorder, it has affected their organs, tissues and systems. They are weak, not normally developing, or playing like any other 9 and 6-year-old. Masara’s condition has intensified as she has developed leukemia cells and gall stones, with doctors stressing the need for an urgent transplant as she may die in a matter of months.

With our endless efforts to access the Libyan government and Libyan charities to help us receive treatment and cover the cost of the expensive procedures in either Europe, or North America, we ended up in Jordan (September 2017). Munsef and Masra received the same short-term treatment that they were undergoing in Libya and it was confirmed by several doctors that the advanced treatment was not available at their hospitals. We returned to Libya with two heartbroken children. Munsef and Masara had witnessed children dying one after another after undergoing medically unsuccessful transplants.

Without finding words that can describe our broken hearts and disappointment we see them suffering and dying in front of our eyes, we are calling your hearts and reaching out for support to cover the cost of the expensive operations. A hospital in Turkey is able to provide treatment for Munsef and Masara at a total cost of $290,000 USD.

This campaign was set up by the family and friends of Munsef and Masara in Canada. Unfortunately, our current financial circumstances can not permit us to cover even a small percentage of the cost. All funds raised will be transferred directly to the hospital in Turkey for their treatment. If we exceed our goals and raise more than the treatment costs, it will be transferred to the parents to help cover their costs while in Turkey.

Please help us save these two angels that God has blessed us with!
