Help Mrs. Judy

Many of you may already know, but some of you might not; Mrs. Judy aka Momma V aka Judy Hoof aka Judes, is battling cancer for the second time.  She was diagnosed with Stage IV Uterine Cancer back in December of last year.  She has had three rounds of chemotherapy and as of 4/3 the doctor reported that the chemo has worked remarkably to shrink the tumors.  On this Wednesday, 4/10 she will undergo a total hysterectomy as well as a procedure to remove the tumors that spread to her abdominal area.   There will be a long road to recovery, and some chemotherapy after, but we believe she will get through this!

Throughout this time she has had to stop working because of the pain caused by the cancer and the side effects of chemotherapy.  Once her FMLA runs out she will be forced to go onto COBRA insurance, which is close to $700/month.  Unfortunately, for several years when she worked as an LLC she did not pay into Social Security, so she is unable to recoup disability benefits.  My father retired a couple years ago and is on Medicare and since she has pre-existing conditions from her previous battle with cancer, having private insurance is way too expensive for him to afford. So her only real option is COBRA, which will be very difficult for my father to pay on his fixed income along with their mortgage and other bills.

We are asking for help because Mrs. Judy may not be able to work for the foreseeable future and will need assistance with her ongoing medical bills.  As you all know my parents are much like everyone else's parents and do not like asking for help, but after some convincing she allowed me to create this (my father still is not a fan :)).  

Any little bit of help you can provide will go a long way to help a wonderful mother, friend, and all around human being that we all know and love.
