Help Me Keep From Going Blind

Hi, I'm Erin. I'm a single mother of two boys, ages 9 and 11, who I love with all my heart. I really don't like asking for anything, but I've now come to the point where I can no longer wait.
I have been wearing glasses almost my whole life. I don't mind them. I actually like them. However, when I was a teenager, it was discovered I had an astigmatism in my left eye that was pretty bad. As the years went on the astigmatism got worse. My ophthalmologist recommended laser surgery to prevent the astigmatism from getting even more nasty. Unfortunately, I was unable to do so, as it was not covered under my insurance and I couldn't afford to pay for it out of pocket. Even with the ophthalmologist verifying without this surgery, my eye would get worse, it's considered cosmetic surgery.
It has now gotten worse. I am now starting to go blind in my left eye, with my vision at 20/400 and rapidly deteriorating. And to top it off, my right eye now has a slight astigmatism.
I, now, am on a time frame of losing my vision that a simple surgery can repair. And I need help paying for it. I want to watch my kids grow up, go to high school, go to prom. I want to watch them walk across the stage when they graduate. I want to go with them to look at colleges. I want to see them get married and have children.
This surgery can help me do that. It won't give me perfect vision, my glasses will stay with me, but I'll be able to see. And that's all I could ask for, glasses and all.
I know the amount looks like a lot, and it is. It pays for both surgeries, (my left eye needs two and my right eye needs one). I don't get the awesome discounts you see on tv, those offers are for mild cases. It pays for all of the follow up visits as well as the eye drops and other eye medications needed. Due to the how bad the astigmatism is and deterioration each surgery is approximately $5,000, with the pre-visit, follow ups, and medications equalling to $4,768.
I know it's a lot to ask for, especially from people you don't know. But this mama would really appreciate any help anyone can give to help me watch my kids grow up, to keep my vision.
