Help me get to Memphis for the IBCs

I'm excited to announce that I recently won the Boston Blues Challenge, which means I'll be headed down to Memphis to compete in the 2019 International Blues Challenge (IBC), coming up January 22-26th! This year I'm competing as a solo act for the very first time. I can't tell you how thrilled I am to bring my solo acoustic finger-style blues to the IBC's – since it's really where my musical roots come from, learning delta and piedmont guitar from my dad (Neil Harpe) and watching him and others perform growing up around Archie's Barbershop in Washington DC. It's a great opportunity, and I can't wait to showcase my acoustic side in Memphis, and share it with you too! In fact I've shared a video below of my winning set from the Boston Blues Challenge, that you can see right now. Winning the Boston Blues Challenge is a huge honor, but it comes with some expenses. I'm raising money to help with airfare to get to Memphis as well as hotel expenses for the week of the International Blues Challenge. (The Boston Blues Society will also be hosting a couple of local fundraisers/parties as we get closer to January, so stay tuned and feel free to come out to those too if you're local!) But right now I'm facing hotels getting sold out, so I need to get this stuff booked asap so I can make sure I'm all set to compete and represent Boston (and acoustic blues!) in the International Blues Challenge.

The International Blues Challenge is pretty much the best time to visit Memphis, the Home of the Blues – when the best up and coming as well as established bands from around the world gather and perform up and down Beale Street for 5 days. One ticket gets you in to all of the shows, and there are parties every night with more entertainment including many world-renown artists that come through town for the event! The IBC represents the worldwide search for those Blues Bands and Solo/Duo Blues Acts ready to perform on the international stage, yet just needing that extra big break. Each Affiliate of The Blues Foundation has the right to send a band and a solo/duo act to represent its organization at the IBC.
