Help me get a decent camera!

Hey guys! So recently I had to drop my fulltime job in order to continue and focus more on my college degree. Working part time, while living off campus with all the beautiful bills we’re all so fond of paying every month to survive has left me pretty strapped with cash to try and do anything besides grocery shop pretty much. Now I’ve been working on this project for about two years, and things are finally ready to get put into motion, besides the little fact that I don’t have a camera. After some research, and reading a ton of reviews, I’ve come to find the Nikon D3400 DSLR Camera to be my best bet for a decent beginner camera. I found one at Best Buy for about $550 + tax. Although I’m majoring in photo journalism, I don’t want to lie and say this is for school! It’s a project I’ve been working on for a while, and I’m finally ready to do some field work as soon as I get a camera. For those of you that know me, you know how far I’ve come to get where I am, and I’m trying my hardest to do things the right way and strive for a life I’ve always been told I couldn’t achieve.
