Help me fund www.hughesairwest.com

I started www.hughesairwest.com in 2001 with an off-the-shelf software program that sold for $49.95.  It was an easy to use program that enabled me to put together a basic site (I am not a website programmer or designer) using one of their templates.  I was working for an internet company at the time so there were no initial fees for hosting the website and registering the domain name.  Once I left the internet business, I had no problems picking up those fees on my own.  Web hosting runs about $25 a month and there are recurring fees every couple of years for the hughesairwest.com domain name.  I estimate the total cost over the years to be around $3500 to $4000 but I am sure I have recovered most of that amount by the sale of T-Shirts and other items along with the RW Movie.

I am at the point now where I need to ask you all for help.  The software program I mentioned that I used to create the website is no longer available and the company that created it is no longer around.  That means that there are no updates and there haven't been any for at least the last five years.   This is a major problem because the computer language known as HTML (hypertext markup language) that it is used to make webpages work has changed out of necessity over the years.  When I started the website in 2001, almost everyone used Microsoft Internet Explorer as their browser for surfing the web.  Now there are several browsers that are in use, Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox to name a couple of the major ones. They all operate differently and my software hasn't kept pace with the changes.  This results in all sorts of viewing problems depending on which browser you use.  A perfect example is when you log on to hughesairwest.com, the first thing you hear is the "Yes" commercial.  That is unless you are using Mozilla Firefox which doesn't allow the playing of a sound file.  Other problems exist, paragraphs of text format differently, some browsers recognize certain fonts, others don't and the biggest disappointment is my software doesn't support streaming video.

So what is the solution?  I either have to take the website down leaving only Facebook and email as a way of staying in touch and sharing all of our great memories of Hughes Airwest, or I can hire a professional website designer to create a new design using all the current bells and whistles that are available.  My preference is to go the route of having the website redone.  For that reason, I have decided to ask for your help by establishing this "GoFundMe" page.

I am not asking for large contributions, just small ones in the neighborhood of $15 to $20 should be enough to get the job done.  This will enable me to hire a web designer to re-engineer the HughesAirwest.com website using today's standards and to also maintain the contact list I started last year to stay in touch with folks that do not do Facebook.

Thanks to all of you for your consideration and help
