Meet Maddie-Rue
http://wwlp.com/2016/12/06/neglected-dog-found-along-i-91/
Maddie-Rue, an approximately five-year-old female Malti-Poo, was found by a good Samaritan and his children on the side of route 91 near Northampton, where she was almost mistaken for a pile of snow! The good Samaritan brought her to Florence Animal Clinic in Northampton.
Maddie-Rue was covered in heavy matts that took four hours to shave off and weighed almost 1/3 of her 8lb body weight. Northampton Animal Control was called in, and Maddie-Rue began her recuperation journey. During her stay at the clinic, it was discovered that Maddie-Rue needed to be spayed, to have mammary tumors and an eyelid mass removed, and to have a specialist surgery to repair a permanently displaced kneecap.
After she was featured on the local news a few days before Christmas, Maddie-Rue attracted widespread attention from the public, and many people were interested in adopting her. However, before she could go to a forever home, she needed placement in foster care where she could recover from her surgeries. A kind and loving local family came forward and offered Maddie-Rue a temporary home for her recovery.
So far Maddie-Rue is doing well, and she is expected to make a full recovery from all of her surgeries, but her journey is far from over. She needs two more surgeries before she can be adopted. We are looking to raise $2,000 for her care. Please help her on her way to recovery so that she can embrace a new life in a forever home.
