Help Madhur meet father's last wish

My name is Madhur Kapoor and I’m a 22 year old Indian trying to earn a living for my family in Bangalore, India. I’m a computer science engineer by profession and work for Citrix R&D. I’m running this campaign to raise funds for my Master’s in Computer Science at University of California - San Diego.
The Dream
After completing my high school with 94% and undergraduate computer science engineering degree with a GPA of 9.4 / 10 from PES Institute of Technology, Bangalore, I joined Citrix. There I started working with a bunch of enthusiastic colleagues, post office-hours, to develop a wearable assistant for the visually impaired.
One thing that always bothered me is how we are trying to explore the extra-terrestrials when a visually impaired person next to us, let’s say, can’t navigate freely without assistance. Have a look at our attempt at solving them - we call it Eye-D . We were the finalists in Intel India Embedded Challenge 2014.
Making prototypes for tech fairs and using them to help people in real life are two very different things. To bridge this gap and taking another step towards fulfilling my dream, I feel I need this specialized degree in Human Computer Interaction to better understand and learn about solving such problems - and not just make just another “attempt” at solving them.
Working in Citrix for the past 11 months, I had made rigorous savings through my family’s support. I managed to save enough to sponsor my living expenses for the duration of the course. Rest was to be paid through family savings. Have a look at the total expenses for the course.
The Bubble Breaks
A late night phone call is never a harbinger of joy. Before picking up the call I knew something had gone wrong. I was told there had been an accident and my father had passed away in a car accident minutes ago. The next 15 hours until I reached my hometown and met my mother was the most traumatic time of my life.
As with any business, there were creditors swarming in numbers to claim their dues. I ended up exhausting my “Higher Studies” penny-bank and most of family savings into serving those dues. I am the only child of my parents and a son to the bravest mother there can be - whose first words to me as I reached home after those 15 hours were - “You are not going to give up on your dream. It was your father’s dream as well, and you will fulfill it”.
Here I am, back to my job in Bangalore, with my mother taking care of my father’s business, both hoping that I somehow complete my master’s from UC - San Diego and give this last gift to my father and secure our future hence. This was the biggest and hardest decision of our lives and we have decided to go with it, however difficult the path may be. After all, it’s about 2 choices always - Mediocrity or Perfection, whatever be the circumstances. I choose to shoot towards the latter and leave the “how” to faith.
I have my VISA approved, flight tickets booked, waiting for help from you to support me in this dream which I can’t fulfill alone. Any donation towards this cause will mean a great help for myself and family. I assure you of giving my 200% to excel in my studies and come out making a father’s dream come true.
