Hi friends! So I'm having major surgery, and will not be able to walk and thus will not be able to work for a little more than three months. Along with all that also comes a lot of medical costs. The last time I had this procedure done (on the other side) I was in the hospital for nearly 9 days. Once I was released there was a lot of expensive medical equipment and treatment needed.
I'm embarrassed to have to do this - but .... the fact of the matter is I have to. I'll not only be out my income, I'll be racking up major expenses very quickly. I know times are tough for everyone, but I'm hoping some of you can give something.
I can't tell you how mortifying it is to have to ask ... and how much I'd appreciate any amount.

I can't figure out how to do a separate section for updates. (I don't know if this is just what other people do?) I'm in recovery brain. ... If you've ever had major surgery you've probably experienced it. The anesthesia (which I'm extremely sensitive to), and drugs, and so on.
The surgical procedure itself went well, but I'm not allowed to walk/put any weight/engage my lower L quadrant in any way. There were some complications caused by the anesthesia department, and I had a spinal leak, which made my first 2+ weeks out of surgery utter misery. I had a number of unfortunate unexpected medical expenses, and some terrible scares with insurance.
In fact I got no fewer then three letters from the US Department of Health and Human Services telling me I didn't have insurance, so that was truly awful. And sometimes work cropped up, even though I'm off work and unpaid for 3+ months.
I'm trying to take things a day at a time for now, and I cannot express to you how much I appreciate all your kindness and generosity.
I decided not to thank everyone individually, because I didn't want it to feel spammy - so I apologize if that was something you were expecting. I truly am very grateful and floored by the outpouring of support and giving.
