Help through thyroid cancer and raise awareness

Hi I’m Leanne, I’m 31 and recently been diagnosed with papillary thyroid cancer which has matestisised meaning it’s spread already to my lymph nodes and likely into my lungs so il need radiation soon, I’ve just completed my second surgery to remove all they could there so no thyroid at all now and I’m sat in my hospital bed as I type this.
ive never been one to ask anyone for help especially financially and this is very outside my comfort zone, but sometimes life throws us curve balls and teaches us that we have to change our thought processes.
So the reason I’m starting a go fund me page started with this: over a few months ago now I started having tests biopsies etc and needed surgery due to a very enlarged goiter around my neck and biopsies showed as borderline, but after half of my thyroid being removed, they found more tumours and they all came back as cancerous which had also spread into my near by lymph nodes and possibly my lungs so I now need more surgery then radiation treatment.
We had to cancel our wedding, which was meant to be next month :( we just bought our very first home together prior to all the issues and tests, and I can’t get any additional financial help, and also if you want to feel well you need a medication forever that even on the nhs is around 300 pounds per month! Which I may need after all this too. So these are the reasons as to why I decided to start this up to also help us to be able to still get married next year.
I’ve been unwell for a long time as I already had hypothyroidism and I had constantly become unwell with flues colds etc over the past year but doctors kept telling me there was no reason for it and it was all in my head. Obviously it wasn’t and I’ve lost so much by being off sick so often and doctors not taking me seriously until I could barely swallow any more :( but I had become unwell originally when I was 16 with thyroid disease.
We’ve lost out on so much because of all of this and it was meant to be the happiest most exciting time of our lives but I feel like now Its all been lost for now.
we still want to get married next year, and once I hopfuly get the all clear I will be fundraising and will be giving back to cancer research, thyroid uk and Macmillan nurses that will be helping me through this.
I’m 31 and I don’t remember the last time I felt really well, and after I beat this I want to get my life back I want to get out into the world and live properly not just exist!
I want to make a difference and I want to raise awareness which could potentially save others too.
So please help by sharing this or to spare even a pound as every penny helps and as my dads always taught me, look after the pennies and the pounds take care of themselves.
We are all stronger together, and I’m ready to get my life back once and for all.
