Help Launch a Tutoring Center

Hello, my name is Jacquelyn Briggs.  I am a certified teacher in the Arkansas Public School System in the Magnolia Public School District. For nearly 30 years, I have devoted myself to teaching children so they can start their educational journey on a solid foundation and be prepared for all subjects and life, overall. During my career, I have taught Pre-K, Kindergarten (25 years), and  2nd grade. I’ve had many experiences teaching  foundational skills and phonics as well as introducing strategies to teach kindergarteners to read. I pushed my kindergarten students to read above level and proudly, most of them achieved third grade level. I have discovered that my special gift and passion is teaching  students to read who need extra supprt. It is a challenging process, but very rewarding, especially when you see the children's eyes light up when they have even small successes.





There is a significant number of children in my district that could greatly benefit from literacy support programs outside of school to increase reading and math levels.  My mission is to create a tutoring learning center. The children will receive 1 on 1 instruction to introduce or reinforce new concepts and to build on what they have already mastered. My goal is to catapult them to the next levels in reading and math and prepare them for the next grade and beyond.  

My short term goal begins shortly after the school year ends. Starting June 12, 2018, I will provide free tutoring to approximately 17 select children  (2nd graders). To start, I will tutor in classrooms at Spirit Led Full Gospel Church, which is located directly across from the school where I teach.  To make this a successful summer, I need your support.
